"Get Hooked on the Experience"

Located in the heart of downtown Victoria B.C. Fish Hair Salon was created with the desire to offer something new and unique to clients. The salon is an environment in which clients can feel comfortable in the chairs of stylists who constantly upgrade and continue their education with frequent trips to Bumble and Bumble University in New York and Vidal Sassoon education worldwide. Fish encourages their stylists to be creative, to learn, and to be inspired. The salon is comfortable and friendly; the work is innovative and exciting.

Creativity is an important focus of Fish Hair Salon. We aim to keep our stylists inspired and current by doing editorial and movie work, fashion shows, creative nights and in-house classes. We regularly attend Hair Shows and Current Workshops. Our team works together to brainstorm and experiment with different techniques and ideas. This keeps our stylists feeling fresh, motivated, and artistic while working with their clients.

We offer three different levels of Stylist at Fish Hair Salon, executive, advanced and junior Stylist. A Stylist reaches the executive level through years of education and experience in a variety of settings. These include community and fashion work, top education courses, teaching and mentoring the other stylists in our salon. Our advanced Stylists have completed advanced education and demonstrated commitment and passion for their craft while developing their client relationship and mentoring abilities. Junior Stylists are the foundation of our salon and we invest heavily in educating and coaching them through an extensive 120+ hour program. Our Juniors are confident and demonstrate technical ability before taking appointments.

Prices range depending on which level of Stylist you see:
Ladies cuts range from $30.00-$80.00
Men's cuts range from $25.00-$75.00
Childrens cuts start at $20.00

July News

Donations

A big thank you goes out to Junior Stylists Matt and Renee, who donated haircuts to "Victoria Idol 2011" and to Junior Stylists Montana and Zoubi who donated haircuts to tour de rock, cops for cancer. Also, our colorist Yasmin donated a color service to the CanWES gold tournament which raises money for the canadian world education society. Thank you very much for donating your time and talents to these great events!

Curly Cuts Class

On June 28th, Advanced Stylist Teneel taught a class on how to properly cut curly hair. She walked the Junior Stylists through the techniques of weight removal, texturing and how to properly style the hair depending on the thickness and shape. If you are lucky enough to have a head full of beautiful curls, give us a call at 250-388-3474 or come down to the salon to speak to one of our Stylists about a new summer look for your curly locks!

Victoria Pride Parade

On July 4th Fish Hair Salon employees Dwane, Rachel, Melissa, Zoe and Keira, along with salon friends Alexa and Kenn, took part in the Victoria Pride Society parade. The Fish Hair Salon team strutted their stuff in support of the pride society who's mission is based on empowerment and who are constantly striving to create a better public understanding of the gay and lesbian community's history, courage and future. Thank you to everyone who took part in the event, both the parade and festival was a lot of fun.

Party in the Park

On June 26th, Stylists Christina and Jenna took part in a fundraiser called "Party in the Park" for the SJS foundation to raise money for a local 12 year old boy named Ian. Christina and Jenna, who both said the day went smoothly, did clean ups and bang trims in return for SJS donations. Thank you to you both for donating your time and skills to help Ian and his family

Color 1

Teneel, Sam and Caitlin recently returned from Bumble and Bumble University in NYC, where they took part in the "Color 1" course. This two day course immerses the students in the fundamentals of Bb color theory and teaches them to develop an eye to make thoughtful, appropriate and tasteful choices for any individual. With an emphasis on color theory, similar to makeup artistry the work is geared towards the mastery of single palette technique with hair color and formulation as well as client consultations, education and product knowledge. Stop by the salon to speak to Teneel, Sam or Caitlin about their recent experience in the big apple!
